Where Do I Turn? Reviews
We have
found your “Where Do I Turn?” DVD to be an excellent supplement to our
program when working with the parents particularly. I would like to thank
you for the work that you have done and for your willingness to share it with
professionals in the field. I truly do believe that your efforts are
helping to make a difference in the lives of youth. I wish you the best of
luck with the ongoing work you are contributing to youth
substance abuse prevention.

“Where Do I Turn” is an
awesome DVD for families struggling to find help when they are in crisis due to
substance use. Families of
all backgrounds and from different parts of the country will find this as a
useful tool. Clinicians, teachers,
the faith community, and support groups will be able to use this DVD to inform
consumers and other staff on how to get help when an adolescent is using drugs.
The DVD can be shown in segments or in it’s entirety but definitely
needs to be seen!!

We really thought the video was well done. You combined a
variety of parents with professional and you combined reality with facts.
Really liked the information from parents for parents and including financial
recourses was GREAT. Deb said to tell you that interviewing the people in
recovery that had 4 years and more clean was also very good. We have seen videos
using people clean less than a year and that is dangerous. Will copies be
available? I can’t remember what you told me as far as how this will be
marketed. Debbie thinks this would be really great for parent support groups as
well.
Congratulations Linda! Well done!

I wanted to share with you some of my thoughts regarding the “Where Do I Turn”. I received a copy of this DVD and after watching it was flooded with ideas of how to use it including sharing it with my staff, using it in therapy groups and individual sessions, and sharing it with families. This DVD is a great teaching tool for both staff and persons served and their families. I really like the way the segments are organized allowing you to pick which segments you may want to share. We plan to use this in a family group for our residential program and as a staff-training tool. The discussions are easy to understand and I feel will help to spark discussion and questions among the viewers. I am glad to have received a copy.
Jennifer Hardee PORT Human Services Regional Manager Greenville, NCI went through it
quick, but I plan on watching it again, and I left it out by the TV for the
teen-angers that come through my house to be wondering was is that about, so if
they are experimenting they could get help. A lot of good information and
I would recommend to all families whether they are users or not. Let’s
families know they are not alone. I will be watching it again.
I
want to thank you for your efforts on behalf of our children and families. The
resources are getting slimmer by the day and so every tool becomes increasingly
valuable.

do interventions but it is my work with adolescents that inspired me to write to
you.
I have used your video with
two families so far and will continue to use it in the initial stages of
treatment. It has proven to be a wonderful supplement to the work that I do. You
did a wonderful job representing the full range of normal early questions and
resources. It gives me something to play for the family while I am meeting
individually with the teen and it has stimulated excellent engagement with the
parents.
I fully support your efforts to

I found this video to helpful to me and especially to a parent who recently found out that their child is using substance. Thanks for the resource. Please keep me on your e-mail list for future resources.
